What Members Can Do to Help
Jack Daniel Employees’ Credit Union is committed to protecting
the privacy of its members. Members can help by following these
simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers, and PINs (personal
identification numbers). Never keep your PIN with your credit
card. This could provide free access to your account if your card
is lost or stolen.
- Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security
numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains
the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account
number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have
access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
- Keep your information with us current. It is important we have
current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially
fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will
attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number
changes, please let us know.
- Let us know if you have questions. Please do not hesitate to
call us – we are here to serve you!
Children
Jack Daniel Employees’ Credit Union does not knowingly collect
personal data from children under the age of eighteen on our web
site. If you are under eighteen, please do not give us any personal
data. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal
data to Jack Daniel Employees’ Credit Union through this web
site, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information
from our databases.
About our Web Site
Our home banking database or CU at Home is a private
system operated for the exclusive use of our members. We use SSL
encryption and digital server authentication to insure the privacy
of your information when sending data between our home banking server
and your home computer.
If you visit a secure site, such as CU at Home,
you will be asked for personal information numbers which will give
you access to the member only section of our website. This information
enables us to regulate entry to the member only portions of our
website and to store certain information such as how often you visit
the home banking section, dates and times of visits and which pages
are being used. Any identifying information gathered is used for
internal review and product evaluation only and is not sold to third
parties.
We use “cookies” to help us administer the CU
at Home section. Some browsers allow you to reject cookies
from servers. If you don’t allow us to set a cookie upon entering
the site, you will not be able to log in. The cookie we set contains
information we need for security, and allows us to “time out”
your authority to view information. We place the cookie with instructions
that it can only be sent to a server in our home banking domain
(homecu.net). A cookie cannot be used to extract data from your
PC. We do not store your Access Code, User ID, or Password in your
cookie.
We may gather and store additional information available to us
on failed login attempts and other activity we consider a threat
to our system. In these cases, we will share this information with
other companies, agencies and law enforcement officials as we see
fit.
If you send an e-mail, we store personally-identifying information
in order to process your e-mail, form or application, and respond
according to the information you have requested. Due to the volume
of e-mail activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered
or completed. If communication is very sensitive or includes personal
information like your credit union account number or social security
number, you may want to send it by postal mail or telephone instead
of by e-mail.
